If you have a tooth that has broken or has a large cavity, it may become infected. This can cause a toothache. If this has happened or may happen one of our dentists may recommend root canal therapy.
Modern dentistry has made root canal therapy much easier than in the past. Root canal therapy can be used to remove or drain an infection from a tooth. If a tooth does not have a strong enough structure for the dentist to restore, the root canal therapy can allow the dentist to place a post into the tooth and then rebuild your tooth using that post as an anchor.
Usually when a tooth has root canal therapy, it will need to have a crown or cap made to cover it. This will rebuild the tooth and make it stronger.
